Pretty shitty news: Martin Burnham, the missionary who had been held hostage with his wife by Abu Sayyaf rebels in the Phillipines, was killed in an rescue attempt. Such tragedies make you want to point fingers, but it's hardly the time for that. I don't know what Abu Sayyaf is trying to accomplish, but they will fail. I hope they enjoy their final few weeks as free men playing with their guns in the forest, because there's no way you can hope to win over a political tide with such displays. It's pretty obvious that these "terrorist" groups are nothing more than glorified street gangs (minus the streets, obviously).
