SPARKER ... The Blog

All the news that's fit to forget about.

Ever on the cutting edge of musically related list-making, my buddy Eric has provided a select few with his choice for the Top Ten Albums of All Time. In the spirit of the New Year season, in which shit like this is not only expected, but required in certain locales, I've posted it below. Do you agree? E-mail me with you choices and I'll compile the end-all-be-all list of all lists. If I feel like it. Here goes ....

1. Beatles, Revovler, because they remain the most important act in rock and roll and because slots 1-10 could be beatles albums.

2. Rolling Stones, Exile on Main Street, because if aliens landed tomorrow and wanted to know what rock and roll was, then this is the album i'd give them.

3. Oasis, What's the Story (Morning Glory)?, because since 1994 they have been the most important rock and roll band in the world... bar none.

4. Bob Dylan, Blood on the Tracks, because if it werent shakespeare itd be dylan.

5.Stone Roses, Stone Roses LP, because it is a legendary and magical debut.

6. Led Zep, Led Zepplin 1, because this is arguably the best debut by any band ever.

7. David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust...., because there is nothing else like it.

8. U2, Achtung Baby, because when you listen to it you know why.

9. Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, because 400 years from now it will still be on the billboard charts and because a copy of the record was actually found on the dark side of the moon in 1969 (4 years before it was recorded! lol!)

10. The Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bollocks, because everyother punk record can be destroyed and as long as a copy of this survives then so will punk rock.

[note: gave each spot to a different group cuz otherwise it really would be all beatles.]

... Take a bow, Eric.
