All the news that's fit to forget about.

Now that Eric's had the limelight for all of ten minutes, I've compiled my own top-ten list (actually this kind of stuff is always sorting itself out in my head [kind of], so it's pretty much a snapshot of today's preferences). This is strictly "rock," or else Miles Davis would be right up there. Remember to let me know how much you disagree with me:
10: Phish, Rift (1993), because they are the most musically proficient band of our time, and this is their best studio album.
9: Beach Boys, Pet Sounds (1966), because this pioneered more avenues of modern music than I have space to mention.
8: Bob Dylan, Blonde On Blonde (1968) -- the great one's best offering.
7: Rolling Stones, Exile On Main Street (1972), for much of the same reason Eric gave below.
6: Jimi Hendrix Experience, Are You Experienced? (1967) -- I mean, come on.
5: The Doors, Strange Days (1967). The best American band ever's best album. 'Nuff said.
4: Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon (1975), perhaps the most overplayed album ever -- but it's still stunning.
3: Nirvana, Nevermind (1991) -- oh, what could have been ...
2: Talking Heads, Remain in Light (1980). When I first heard this album, I couldn't breathe for a week.
1: Beatles, Abbey Road (1969), for while the White Album (1968) is my favorite, you cannot deny that this was the Fab Four's best recording, putting their all into it before the curtains drew to a close.
I've lots of honorable mentions to dole out, but I'll keep them to myself. Don't forget to send your lists, too.
