All the news that's fit to forget about.

We got two beautiful early Christmas presents this week. First, Trent Lott resigned form his position as upcoming Senate majority leader (yes!); unfortunately, he'll stay in the Senate -- I was hoping he'd just quit and give the Dems back the majority, but alas, one can only dream. It can still happen ...
Second, Phish has announced the release of "LivePhish Downloads," a service which will sell unedited soundboard recordings of Phish concerts via digital download to listeners. Hundreds of Phish concerts will be available in both MP3 and SHN (Shorten, which expands to full CD-quality audio) formats, at prices that vary on the basis of the length of the shows. All downloads are compatible with Windows, Mac, and Unix operating systems. The files can be burned to disc, transferred to portable players, or played through a computer. Each show also comes with printable booklets, inlay trays, and labels for those who choose to burn their copies to CD.
You gotta love these guys.
