All the news that's fit to forget about.

Okay, here's the lowdown on the latest, greatest virus: Starting Sunday, my PC began shutting down whenever I was on the Internet for more than two minutes. I'd receive a message stating "Windows is shutting down because connection to the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service was unexpectedly ternminated. This command was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/ SYSTEM," and then I'd have 60 seconds before my system rebooted. After searching for days, I finally figured out that this is the Lovsan, aka MS Blaster, virus, which is now the most widespread in the world. If you're receiving similar prompts or suspect you may have the same virus, go to this site which will give you instructions on how to fix it. Since I couldn't stay on the Internet, I wasn't able to download any patches or fixes, but I've saved them on disk (from work), so I can provide them to anyone if necessary. Good luck!
If you don't yet have this virus, it's a good idea to check the microsoft website for regular updates and update your antivirus DAT files.
