For some strange reason, I've been drawn into the fascination with the NYC Club Kids of the late '80s - mid '90s, particularly the documentary Party Monster, which has been made into a feature starring Macauly Culkin as the now-infamous Michael Alig. I've always hated the goth/club scene in all its superficial and doubiously fashion-less glory, yet there's something intriguing about the "movement" those kids could be said to have represented. I, for one, am glad the punk's in jail, but it looks likely that I'll break down and actually see the movie. However, I'll keep my makeup and fishnets saved for the midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, thank you very much.
