CNN is reporting that Craig Kilborn will be leaving The Late, Late Show later this year. If he's not retiring, then he's an idiot. After foolishly leaving The Daily Show in 1999, Kilborn's career has been steadily falling further and further into the slumps. Comedy Central has thwarted him good -- first by turning The Daily Show with Jon Stewart into one of its flagship shows, then by promoting Late Night with Conan O'Brien, which airs during Kilborn's current show's time slot, with reruns in the afternoon. If Kilborn isn't retiring, I hope he's going to return to Comedy Central. They could manage two news satire/parody series, I think. (If he goes back to ESPN, you know he's in a rough spot.)
