PopMatters (for which I used to write) looks into why this year's Lollapalooza failed, in this article. The saddest may be that these artists no longer appeal to the all-important 18--24-year-old concert-going demographic...i.e., we've gotten old, guys. And, I guess, so has good music. Viva la Jessica Simpson? Blah!

And so the world turns. I suppose in the future it will be the folks in the old age homes who sport green hair and tattoos and mosh to ambient noise, and our kids will then don the crewcuts and neckties and spend their days poring over investment portfolios. "Never trust anyone over the age of thirty"? Yeah, right.
